4. Project Integration Management

The Project Integration Management is a knowledge area in PMBOK® Guide – Fifth Edition.It covers 6 processes spanning all the 5 process groups. These are umbrella or integrative processes helpful in deciding when or how to apply the processes in the other 9 knowledge areas. Whenever there are competing project objectives, the project manager has to be in a position to decide and apply the relevant processes from different knowledge areas: The Integration Management processes basically facilitate / guide this aspect of project management.
