Introduction


- Project Communications Management knowledge area includes processes to come up with a communications management plan for the project communications and then ensuring the process is followed during project execution. It also is responsible for ensuring that changes to the communications management plan follow a controlled process.
- The following are the processes in this knowledge area:

-> Manage Communications
-> Control Communications
- The following are the some of the important outputs from this knowledge area:
-> Communications Management Plan – Planning
-> Project Communications – Executing
- While Manage Communications process is concerned with ensuring that the processes in the communications plan are followed during project execution, control communications process ensures changes to the plan are monitored and controlled.
- Based on the stakeholder communication requirements, the communications management plan (CMP) is created as part of Plan Communications Management process.
- The Manage Communications process is concerned with the creation, distribution, storage, retrieval and disposition of project information based on the communications management plan.
- The Control Communications process is concerned with ensuring that changes to the CMP follow a controlled process.
